I move fluently between English and Portuguese, I'm developing my Spanish at an intermediate level, and I'm currently building fluency in Mandarin Chinese.

Two years in a foreign country isn't an easy task — it takes a lot of adjustment, learning, and dedication. From June of 2024 to June of 2026, I lived in Paraná, Brazil, fully immersing myself in the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture to learn more about such a special group of people.

My daily interactions led me to serve, speak, teach, learn, and grow as a part of this rich community.

I achieved fluency and continue to practice as I keep in contact with many friends and associates who live there.

SPANISH

While living in Brazil, I developed great connections with many people from different countries and places, including Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Mexico, and even Spain. I learned the basics of the Spanish language, and once I returned home, I continued my Spanish development working in construction and plumbing, where I improved my Spanish capabilities and developed more connections with people from Mexico and Cuba. Although I am not yet fluent, I continue to learn and develop my abilities to continue establishing connections and reaching understandings with many groups and places.

MANDARIN CHINESE

Mandarin Chinese is often considered one of the most difficult languages to learn, yet at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I've found it to be an amazing adventure. While it is challenging, I enjoy learning new phrases and meanings to better my abilities to speak, read, and write in my Mandarin 1 class.
